AK Day one

Day one in AK We are in Girdwood, stopped by the local convenience store to pick up some juice.

Met up with Yamada Hiroyuki local cameraman at the laundry. His Tipi house had fallen over while he was gone so we watched as he set that back up. He is living in a tipi that comes with a wood stove, the whole thing packs into a bag that is smaller than the stove. You can buy

Nakayama Kee-chan was on the same flight as us yesterday and she is hanging out with Yamada. She seemed real happy to be on her first trip to Girdwood.
Yamada invited us to Silver tip for lunch and a few drinks Alaska style. The Nachos were huge!
Then we hooked up with Shinya back at the laundry in his new camping car. This machine is nice! Very big inside! Would love to have one back in Japan.
Shinya tells us some stories from his days in AK. Good stuff for sure. Looking forward to riding with Shinya a little bit.
So today we slept in a did not go riding, it was raining all day at the bottom of the mountain, the top was snowing. We decided to let the body rest and meet people etc., Turned out to be a good day. Tomorrow registration for the contest starts and things should start heating up here in Girdwood!
